Switch up your Cardio Routine

Hello lovelies,
We all know how boring and tedious steady state cardio can be but somehow it still needs to get done.
Next time you drag yourself to the gym to do a boring 30min steady state cardio session try switching up.

The main issue with steady state cardio is that it’s boring because you are doing the same thing for such a long time. So why not do different things.
Depending on how many different cardio machines are available in your gym, split your cardio time by the amount of machines you have available.

For example in my gym we have; cross trainer, treadmill, stair master, bike & rowing machines. So instead of running for 30mins or doing the cross trainer for 30min, I will do every machines for 6min only. Anyone can get through 6mins of cardio - it’s not that long!

I have started doing this for my cardio sessions and it’s so much more fun plus time seems to fly by because I am switching machines all the time.
I also think it’s great for your body, because you are doing different movements instead of just the same few movements over and over again.

So next time you are going to do that steady state cardio session, switch it up!
What are you tips for making cardio more fun?
Let me know below!
Stay healthy & happy

Product Review: Fitness Noodles by FitnessGuru

Hello lovelies,
So I was just going through my cupboards looking for a snack when I found the fitness noodles by FitnessGuru. I had received them for free as part of a bigger order I had made a while ago. But as I didn’t order them they kinda just ended up in my cupboard until today. I thought I would try them and let you know what I think.
What it says on the back of the packaging is:
“Everyone loves a good meal. But sometimes the calories can seem excessive. Maybe you are looking to lose weight, getting in shape or just maintaining. Fitness Noodles enables you to make the dishes you love without the calories you hate.”

Basically they are calorie free noodles, which sounds kinda good right? SPOILER But They don’t really taste or look like noodles in any way.

They are white-ish/see-through and they are a bit rubbery… yum. It doesn’t say on the packaging how long one should cook them for. The directions just say: “1. Drain 2. Rinse 3. Cook”, which is what I did, but they still tasted a bit rubbery. Then the portion size is tinyyy, but as I was only having them for a snack that was fine for me.
The nutrients on the back of the packaging show that they have 4 calories by 100g and then 0g fat, carbs & protein. Why would one eat sometime that doesn’t give you ANY nutritional value?! You won’t feel satisfied from 0g of fat, carbs & protein – it’s nothing, so why bother? Plus they are rubbery!

I ended up eating them with some sauce and cheese on top, but to be honest it just tastes like rubbery sauce, which isn’t too bad, but it’s really not great.
I don’t think it is worth eating a  “fake” food product that doesn’t even taste great just to ‘save’ calories.
Thumbs down from me.

I know there are other brans who also do these “calorie-free” noodles not just FitnessGuru. Have you ever tried any of them? What did you think? Is it worth adding them to a meal?

Stay happy & healthy!

Back to the Roots - Visby Part 2

The wall surrounding Visby.
Hello lovelies,
This week I visited the island Gotland which is a Swedish island just off the mainland. Gotland is where the Swedish part of my family is from; my mum was even born in Visby the main town on Gotland.

I took a lot of pictures and thought I would just share some of the moments with you.
A little different today, enjoy!

Mamma capturing view from Norderstrand, Visby.
View from Högklint.
Up on Högklint with my baby brother.
Typical house in Visby.
View of the harbour in Visby.
Almedalen, a park in Visby right by the sea front.
The City Wall
Fiskargränd
Typical house in Visby the city of roses.
Just chilling on one of the many sheep in Visby. Gotland is the island of sheep.
Ruins in the middle of the city.

The streets of Visby.
Over the roofs of Visby.

Those typical stairs.

Day trip up the coast

Delicious lunch with a view.
Swedish traditional, Plankstek.
Mamma taking pictures of Noah all the way up oFårö, an island above Gotland.
Sundersand, the beach that doesn't quite feel like Sweden.

Biggest Ice cream bar in Europe – Visby part 1

Hello lovelies,
As some of you may know I am currently on holiday with my family visiting Gotland, an island off the Swedish mainland. My mother is original from Gotland, which is why we are visiting this beautiful place.
I have been taking loads of pictures and am planning to put them all together in a blog post for you on the weekend.
But for now I want to tell you about something else, the biggest ice cream bar in Europe – Glass Magasinet.
Before we get into all the details there is something you need to know about Swedes, they LOVE ice cream – glass. And not only in the summer. Swedes are crazy for glass and Glass Magasinet has loads of it.
They make their own ice cream and they claim to have over 160 different flavours, to be honest I didn’t count how many they had, but they had loads.

The flavours are anything you can imagine; nutella, redbull, rainbow, daim, beer – nothing seems to crazy to be a flavour at this ice cream place. So of course we had to give it a try.

Not going to lie it was a bit overwhelming to try to choose only 1 or 2 flavours from all of these delicious sounding ones, well some more then others – who would want beer ice cream?!

I ended up going for one scoop of nutella and one scoop of cinnamon bun. They were both delicious!
My mum went for a scoop of Mojito and my dad got a scoop of lemon curd, both of which were delicious too.

And if you were wondering, yes I am eating ice cream basically everyday here – what can I say… it’s my Swedish blood!
If you could have ANY ice cream flavour, what would you pick?
Stay healthy & happy lovelies.

Healthy Tortilla Chips

Hello Lovelies,
Today I want to share something with you that is kinda a recipe, but also kinda just a little lifehack.
How to make healthy, low calorie tortilla chips SUPER simple.
I mean there is not even real baking involved it’s that simple ;)
But I do think this will change your evening snacking experience if you give it a try!

All you will need:
Whole grain tortilla wraps
Scissors
Oven

Okay I know I just said there is no REAL baking involved but you will still have to pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees.
Then you just cut your whole grain tortilla wraps into small chip sized pieces. I think I got roughly 25 out of each wrap I used. Then place all your little chips on a baking tray and put them in the oven until they are crispy. This took me maybe 10mins.

And voila you have created healthy & wholegrain tortilla chips that taste delicious!

Now the next step in making your evening snack EVEN healthier would be to make your own salsa or healthy dips. I have a blog post on healthy dips you can read HERE. And I tried to make my own salsa but it really didn’t work – it just wasn’t as simple as the chips part. haha

And there you have it healthy & simple tortilla chips.
If you try only ONE thing from my blog, this is probably the easiest & most satisfying one. ;)

Stay healthy & happy my lovelies.

Nike from Head to Toe

Hello lovelies,
Today I thought I would put together a blog post that was a little different. I bought a few new pieces of Nike workout clothes that match a few of my all time favourites pieces, which made me think I should do a “Lookbook” of this outfit for you. I know lookbook posts are usually more of a fashion blogger thing but hey I have a new favourite outfit so why can’t I share it with you even if it’s not really fashion related?!

This is the complete new outfit.
A mixture of grey tones with a few highlights of neon.

The new parts of the outfit are the neon yellow sports bra as well as the grey/black workout top. The sports bra is a Classic Nike Pro Sports Bra in the colour yellow/black. And the top is called Elastika 2.0 Tank in the colour anthracite/black.

The top has a really fancy open back, which lets the neon sports bra shine through. It also has this super cute vertical band that of course says ‘Just do it’, what else?

The leggings are probably my favourite piece of workout clothing I own. I love the colour of them and they are so comfy. These are my go to leggings, if I can only bring one pair of leggings with me, it will always be these ones. The leggings are called Nike Dri Fit Epic Run Tights – longest name ever. But they truly are epic.

And last but not least my beloved Nike Frees.
I have had these for over a year and have used them nearly every day & they have been amazing. They are one of my favourite style of Nikes, they are just so comfortable and light. Plus I love the colour of them, they are a neon orange with a hint of navy blue and the Nike swoosh is neon yellow which matches the sports bra.

And that was my attempted at an outfit post – thoughts, feelings, comments?
Here are some blooper pictures to finish of the lovely post for today.

Stay healthy & happy!
