I'M ON YOUTUBE!

Hello lovelies,

The time has finally come: I'm on YOUTUBE!

I've been playing with the idea for a while now and I've finally found the time to make it happen.
I will hopefully be able to upload a video a week just as I write a blog post a week about food, fitness, products I am loving or whatever else I feel like creating!

I see it as the next little challenge just as this blog was when I started it in January.
I uploaded my first video yesterday call 'What's in my gym bag?' so if you are interested to know what I take with me to the gym go check it out and leave a nice little comment letting me know you have come from my blog!

Have a little watch!

That's all for this week, BUT I do have a super delicious halloween-y recipe for next week ;)
so watch this space
Stay happy & healthy cuties

1mpact Launch Party at the 1Rebel Gym in London

Hello lovelies,
This week I had the opportunity to be part of the 1mpact brand launch at the 1Rebel gym in London. It was the first blogger event I had had a chance to go to which made it even more exciting for me.

1mpact is a new brand that aims to connect people within the fitness & health industry from bloggers to models & brands. And these were exactly the people who were at the launch party this week. So honoured that I was able to be a part of it.

So the launch started at 7pm on Thursday evening and consisted of a workout at the 1rebel gym followed by deliciously healthy food from loads of brand such as neatnutrition, vita coco, pip & nut and many more & of course some bubbly to celebrate the creation of the new 1mpact brand. There were also other brands from the industry present such a sports clothing brand Gymluxe.  Oh and of course there were fabulous people braiding all our sweaty hair hahah. What would a party be without braids?!

First up was the workout. One could choose between two 1Rebel classes either Rumble or Reshape. I should have done more research before but I hadn’t which meant I had NO IDEA what I had gotten myself into when I sign up for Reshape. Reshape ended up being a running & weights class. Half the class started on the running machines while the other half started with the dumbbells. If you’ve been following me for long enough you should know which one I picked – that’s right the weights! The class was then split into four rounds; weights, running, weights, running... yes I died a little. The workout was absolute killer but it was amazing. The workout studio was blasting music, had coloured lights that changed depending on the intensity of the workout. I must say I was really impressed by the 1Rebel gym equipment.

After the workout we headed back into the very fancy changing rooms grabbed a few cold towels out of the fridges and tried to make our faces look a little less tomatoe-y. Once I had just about stopped sweating and looked semi-acceptable again it was time to hit the food.

From coconut water to protein shakes, quinoa salads, meatballs, brown rice & nut butters. There was everything that the fittie’s heart desired. Then as mentioned before one of the main attractions was getting our hair braided by some amazing hair artists.

As if having a killer workout in a fancy gym and loads of delicious healthy food wasn’t amazing enough I had the chance to meet loads of like-minded people. Some I already knew from online and others that I will from now on stalk online.

All in all, a fabulous event.
Congratulations to the 1mpact team I’m sure there are great things ahead!

Some days

Hey lovelies,

Some days you just don’t feel inspired.
I’ve had a few of those days last week which mean I haven’t found a topic I really wanted to blog about. But oh well life goes on and I’m sure there will be a better blog post for you next week. I'm only human.

Now I will get ready for a cheeky Sunday legday.

Remember to stay happy & healthy my lovlies

There are no BAD foods

Cut it out of your vocabulary and your mind-set.
Foods are not GOOD or BAD.
Food is energy, and every kind of food provides you with energy.
The only difference is that there are foods that are DENSER in nutrients and can therefore provide you with energy for longer or in a faster more efficient way.

When people decided that they want to start eating healthier or lose a bit of weight, I often hear that their plan is to cut out the BAD foods – usually carbs, let’s be honest.
But there is nothing healthy about this kind of thinking.
Firstly, thinking of foods, as GOOD or BAD will lead to more problems than solutions in the long run. You might not think it’s a problem at first but once it is – it’s too late. The amount of people (usually girls) who have a horrible relationship with food is so shocking; so don’t go down that path.
FOOD IS NOT BAD.
Secondly, cutting out whole food groups is a stupid idea. If you really cut out a specific food group like dairy or gluten carbs for 6-8 weeks your body will adapt, meaning you might become intolerant of these products. So if you really enjoy pasta don’t cut it out for months because once you FINALLY have it again, you might feel horrible because your body isn’t use to it. TADA you have made your body intolerant to one of your favourite foods.
That doesn’t sound like fun – right?!

Having said all of that of course it’s okay to be aware that some foods will provide you with fewer nutrients than others. And it’s also okay to moderate your consumption of some products to get in shape or lose some weight.
But don’t be silly about it.

MODERATION IS KEY.

Stay healthy & happy
