Hello lovelies,
I love snacking! Do you too? Because if you do - I have the
perfect recipes for you today. I am going to share three healthy dip recipes with
you. You can dip veggies, crackers or some wholegrain bread into these little
bowls of deliciousness, which would be the perfect snack. Plus if you have any friend
over for a little dinner party this could be the perfect starter. So let’s just
get right into it!
Roasted Red Pepper Hummus
First up is Roasted Red Pepper Hummus. This one is
delicious! You can roast your own red pepper or you can buy roasted red peppers
in a glass. I roasted my own just because I had never done it before and I
wanted to try.
All you will need:
1-2 Red Peppers (if you will roast it yourself) or the equivalent
in roasted red pepper pieces from a glass
The juice of half a lemon
1 can of chickpeas (240g)
4 tbsp Tahini (sesame paste)
3 tbsp Olive Oil
Half a garlic clove
Salt & Pepper
Process:
Roast Peppers
Cut your peppers into a few big flat pieces and put them in
a pre-heated oven at 225 degrees C.
Keep an eye on them and take them out once the skin has
charred (turned black).
Take the peppers out of the oven and carefully put them in a
plastic bag and seal it, let the peppers cool in the plastic bag until you can
touch them.
Once the peppers have cooled down peal the skin off (this
will be very easy).
Voila you have roasted your own red peppers!
On to the Hummus!
Add the Tahini and lemon juice to a food processor and blend
it up. This will make the hummus creamier.
Add the olive oil & garlic and blend again.
Rinse the chickpeas and then add them to the mixture and
blend again.
Add salt & pepper to your taste.
And finally add your peppers.
Feel free to add more of any of the ingredients to make the
hummus taste good for you!
Creamy Guacamole
Next up is Guacamole! Oh my, do I love some good Guac.
Guacamole goes with so many things and its full of healthy essential fats.
All you will need:
2 avocados
Half a chili
Juice from half a lime
Half a garlic clove
Cherry Tomatoes
Salt & Pepper
Extra chili powder (if you like it Spicy)
Process:
Mush the avocadoes with the back of a fork until they are
smooth.
Cut the chili and garlic into really small pieces and add
them to the avocado.
Add the lime juice.
Add salt, pepper & chili powder until it tastes best for
you.
You might want to add some extra lime juice.
You could also add a tablespoon of Greek yogurt if you like
your Guac creamy!
Spring Quark
The last dip is a spring quark (curd cheese) dip. This one
is probably not as spectacular as the other two, but as a trio they work
perfectly together.
All you will need:
250g of Quark (Curd Cheese) or Greek Yogurt
Chives
Lime juice from half a lime
Salt, pepper, paprika & garlic powder to taste!
Process:
Mix it all together!
Start by adding the chives. If you don’t have precut ones
like I did (super lazy!!) then just make sure you cut the chives into really
small pieces.
Then add the lime juice and spices.
Just keep tasting until it tastes perfect to you.
That is it! These are the three healthy dips, made from
healthy whole-foods. No, they are not low-fat, zero calorie dips you can eat
tons of! But they taste delicious, are made from real good-for-you-foods and
are a perfect combo all together. So next time you want a little afternoon
snack or you have some friends over for a night in, why not serve up these
healthy dips?
Is there a dip I missed that you LOVE? Let me know in the
comment!
And of course if you give this a try make sure to add the
